I created a concise new story using research, quotes, and creating infographics, hyperlinks, and a complementary audio report and photo slideshow for my final reporting assignments. This assignment allowed me to showcase my storytelling, photography, data analytics, voice-over, interviewing, and editing skills in Adobe Audition.
For this assignment, I created a new story about needing more housing in hotel space during Tech's spring graduation and commencement ceremony. Families of graduating seniors struggle to find places to stay, forcing many to book hotels as far as Salem, VA- 40 minutes away from Blacksburg, without traffic. I spoke to Alicia Skoug and Bruce Freilich, two parents of Tech seniors graduating in May 2025, about their experience finding housing for graduation weekend.
